Faces of Europe – Festival of Lights 2020
This year again, Berlin will shine in light and color during the “Festival of Lights”. Numerous federal ministries are participating, including the German Foreign Office for the third year in a row. This year with a video projection of the project FACES OF EUROPE by Carsten Sander.
Sander’s FACES OF EUROPE from the project of the same name will be lit up on the eastern outer façade at night – from September 11 to 20 and from October 2 to 4. Humanity, emotionality and the visionary power of the European idea were sought and photographed by the photographic artist on a journey through the 27 EU member states from Stockholm to Bilbao, from Riga to Athens. He focuses on the people of Europe, showing what unites and what distinguishes them.
An outstanding demonstration of European biographies and an expression of peaceful coexistence, tolerance and common values.
