Carsten Sander, a photo artist, went on an extraordinary journey through all 27 EU member states. Traveling the roads of Europe in a camper van - and in challenging times - his mission was to take 1,000 portrait photographs of Europeans from a wide variety of ethnic and social backgrounds, rich and poor, old and young.
